Child custody

I have temporary custody of family members child, have had him for 4 months. Cps in oregon took child away for neglect she sent him to me, now she wants him back and she is a drug addict and has no money or place for him to go is there anything i can do legally to try to keep him with me

Re: Child custody

After the child has resided with you continuously for six months, Virginia should acquire jurisdiction for purposes of adjudicating custody of this child, and, you could then file your petition in the local Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court for this purpose.
