Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Child custody/adoption

If a couple is not married and have a child which is immediatly put up for adoption both parents sign off on the adoption but then the mother chooses to go back for the child does the father still have parental rights to the child if he chooses to? Can the mother then go back and ask for child support from the father who already signed his rights away to put the child up for adoption?

Re: Child custody/adoption

Yes, very likely so, unless the biological father's parental rights have been terminated by a court of proper jurisdiction during the course of the adoption process.
