Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Child Support Appeals

Okay, my final question. If the person is incarcerated and needs to file the appeal on the judge's ruling for child support, who makes the appeal? Who can make the appeal and how would they go about it? Thanks so much.

Re: Child Support Appeals

The defendant must make the appeal by notifying the

clerk of the J&DR court that he wishes to exercise his right to appeal the judge's ruling within the time frame allowed(and completing the appropriate paperwork to be filed with the clerk's office).

And, yes, all of the above can be done from a jail cell.
