Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

child support enforcment

Father lives in MD and mother lives in VA with kids for 6 months. There is a separation agreement that was sign and notarized by both parents. Now, the father refuses to pay child support as agreed in the separation agreement.

Is there any way to force the father to pay as agreed? Does she have to wait a year before she can get into court to see a judge? Can DSC in VA help?

Any advice is appreciated.

Yes, DCSE(Division of Child Support Enforcement)should be able to assist you or any private Virginia attorney(whom you can afford to hire)who is familiar with the Commonwealth's domestic relations laws and the enforcement of child support.
