Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Child Support

How can I find out where my ex husband works and how much his pay is? I have asked by phone and by letters in which he will not tell me. My daughter is 7 years old, I have never ask for an increase before. I am trying for an increase now but I can not obtain the info I need to fill out the form for the judge.

Re: Child Support

Your best bet in this situation is to inform the judge that you do not have the information he or she has requested and ask the judge to order your husband to provide you with that information.

Re: Child Support

You say "ex" husband, so we will assume that this matter has been through the Circuit (divorce) Court and you desire to act upon the child support decreed by that court. Accordingly, the Circuit Court would retain jurisdiction on the support issue unless there has been a "remand" to the Juvenile D.R. court. A petition must be filed to request a change based on probable cause to believe that a change of financial circumstances has occurred. The ex husband is summoned and will have to give sworn testimony as to his wages, etc.
