child support

i have a garnishment on my check how will that effect the amount of child support i will have to pay. what do they look at when they set an amount for support.

You can review at Section 20-108.1 of the Code of Virginia the criteria which a court will consider in determining a child support obligation in the Commonwealth. Since a garnishment is normally only a temporary deduction from an obligor's paycheck, it will not normally be a factor for the court to consider in setting a long term support obligation.
