Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Child Support was ordered in December 2007 to pay 242 a month. He never onced paid for support. He now owes 6400 in back support. He has been in and out of jail, but only for about 4 months of the past two years. Now he filed a motion to amend the order, because he has no job. But he never even attempted to make payments on this. Will they amend the order? Or throw him in jail??? He is also on probation from previous offenses. Also, will any of this back support be reduced because of him amending the order???

Ask for a rule on the deadbeat. Child support will sometimes attempt to mediate for you.

He could wind up in jail if you push it. You may have to go to court several times.
