Child Support 06-08-2009

I need advise on child support been divorced for six years and I was writing a check every month for six hundered and have not missed one payment. I have been umemployed going from 21.74 an hr to unemployment of about 9.00 hr. June is the first month I have had problem paying, I offered 150.00 a week because I have other people to pay but she wants it all at once. She has filed papers 06-08-2009 with child enforcement I need to know were I stand would love to meet with someone for advise. I also paid our chapter13 in full and she didnt pay a dime can I have her pay half,because my check was the highest at the time they took it from me.

Re: child support payments

You will not be able to use whatever you may have paid in your Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing to now reduce your child support arrearages. However, if you're now unemployed, you could file a motion with the court which entered your support order to either suspend or reduce your support payments as the court deems appropriate.
