Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Child support

im in richmond va and the law states i have to pay 40% of my income to child support. that would be around 800 a month. im only paying 500 but that was raised from 265 a month which was what i was paying for 6 years. my ex then raised it while she was 7 months pregnant with no daugther of mine. is there anyway i can get that reduced. if she has to pay 60% to him but she files him on her taxes how is that fair to me? i cant afford to move out of my moms house and im 27!!!

Re: Child support

You would appear well advised to arrange for a consultation with an attorney who is knowledgeable and experienced in working with the Commonwealth's child support laws and procedures and in particular the Child Support Guidelines found at Sec. 20-108.2 of the Virginia Code.
