Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Child support

Ive been told that if you do not have rights to the child you do not have to pay child support. I still have visitation with my son but no other rights.Such as decision making or anything of that nature. Could you please help me on finding the RIGHT answer..Thanks!

Re: Child support

You've been told wrong. You have rights, but in your case they're obviously limited. If you want to play a major part in the decisions affecting your child's life, you'll need to have the court award you at the very least shared legal custody of this child.(If you have only visitation rights, you have

no legal basis to demand to participate in the afore-described kind of decision-making for this particular child.)
