Child support - VA

My ex husband quit his government job to take a lower paying job to get his child support lowered. The mediator said I should ask the judge to impude his income. Is this the proper terminology to ask that his income not be dropped?

The term is IMPUTE: and it means to attribute the income previously earned by an individual, usually if they have been fired for cause, or voluntarily quit in order to reduce income.
