Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Child Support and workmans comp

My ex husband is receiving workmans comp and has stopped paying legally obligated (through the division of child support enforcement). I have contacted the D.C.S.E. 3 times now about the matter, and nothing has been done, they haven't answered my question nor has the case worker addressed the issue. What can I do to get this matter resolved? Doesn't he still have to pay child support?

Re: Child Support and workmans comp

Yes, your former husband still owes the support. If he cannot now pay the full amount owed, he should be asking the DCSE for a review and possible reduction in the current support.

If some DCSE reps have not responded adequately to your inquiries, you should ask to speak with the District Office manager or adminstrator for your particular area. And, if these contacts also prove unsatisfactory, then you should start calling the relevant folks in Richmond, including the Director of the DSS and your local state representative as well.
