Childcare Ages and Laws?

I have an 11 year old and an 8 year old who don't start school til Sept. 2. I'm in nursing school and got to class and clinicals 3-4 days a week, I have hired a 15 year old Junior to watch my two girls while Im in class. Im wondering if there are laws on the books in VA (i googled without much success) regarding ages children can stay home alone and ages VS hours for babysitting? Thanks!

No, there are not as far as I am aware, as these would appear to be commonsensical issues which are more properly left to parents to decide.
