Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My childs father and I are no longer together. We had an agreement that for the first 3 months of life our son would be with me, the mother. Afterwards, our son would spend Monday through Friday 4pm with his father and Friday 4pm through Sunday with me. This was so I could continue to go to school during the week.

Now my question...

Can the father prevent me from picking my son up? Also, can the Father take him from me before my time is up?

There are no legalized custudy agreements currently enforced, everything is just a personal agreement?

In the absence of a valid court order governing custody/visitation, the

answer, unfortunately, very likely is yes to both of your

questions (in my opinion).
