cna i get re-married

i recently got divorced in the state of texas. i am in the millitary and live in virginia. texas law requires a 30 day wait to get remarried, does virginia have the same? and if not can i get remarried in virginia without waiting the 30 days texas requires. also can my ex wifes lawyer hold the final decree until i pay a debt that was ordered by the court?

Virginia has a similar waiting period while the decree, as they say, "is put to bed", before finally, so to speak, becoming finalized. Even if that were not the case, you would be foolish to ignore Texas law which currently has jurisdiction over your case, even though you now live in Virginia.

Lastly, common sense should dictate to someone

like yourself who believes that they cannot wait a mere 30 days before again making a marriage commitment in a situation where the previous one has broken down, that, perhaps, a waiting period of a good deal longer than 30 days would be highly advisable.

I will leave to others to address the totality of your inquiry. I would just point out that once the

Court has entered the Decree of Divorce, the document becomes PUBLIC property so I don't see how any attorney or anybody can "withhold it".
