Re: Can I collect Spouse Support

It depends. The court will consider the following factors to determine whether spousal support is proper: the earning capacity, obligations, needs and financial resources of the parties; the education and training of the parties and the ability and opportunity of teh parties to secure such education and training; the standard of living established during the marriage; the duration of the marriage; the age and physical and mental condition of the parties; the contributions, monetary and non-monetary of each party to the well being of the family; and other factors.

If you are suffering from PTSD you may be a good canditate for alimony given the factors noted above. However, in order to adequately advise you I would need more fact. If you have any questions, please call my office at 301-652-0663 or 703-598-9220.
