Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Concerned for my child's safety with in law

Hello. I live in the state of Virginia.(May need to know) I have been married for 3 years and my mother in law is, for lack of a better term, crazy. I am concerned about the safety of my child when he is around my mother in law alone. I would like my child to only see my in law if the visit is supervised. My husband however is somehow blind to a few major things. Things that have caused me to be this worried. He feels it's ok for our child to be with his mother unsupervised, however I do not. Is there anyway I can get some kind of supervised visiting? I would honestly prefer it if my child didn't visit with her at all because I do not feel safe about this. Is there any sort of legal steps I can or should take? Basically it's, I say no go and my husband feels it's ok. I just do not feel safe. Is there anything at all I can do if my husband is saying it's ok and I truly know and feel that it is not safe?Should I call child protective services when my child is with my in law so they can check up on things? I just don't know what to do espceially since this is my husbands mother and he isn't seeing the things I am seeing.

Thank you so much for your time. It is very much appreciated.

Re: Concerned for my child's safety with in law

You have offered no evidence in support of your fears for your child's

safety when he's in the unsupervised care of your mother in law other than the unsupported allegation that she's supposedly "crazy"(at least in your view). You might wish to discuss the matter in very general terms with someone from CPS to get their take on the issue but in the absence of a court order, your husband now has as much right as you to decide this particular matter.
