possible consequences of spouse and child abondonment

My best friend lives in Virginia, she and her husband purchased a home valued at approx $90k, have no savings or other investments, one son 13yrs old. She has left home husband and son to be with another man. What are the possible consequences of her actions?

POTENTIAL divorce action based on adultery, would bar her from spousal support and she may get less than 50% of marital assets. POTENTIAL loss of child custody as well. may be ordered to pay child support or spousal support depending on the income of the parties.
