Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

What does it mean when court order says holiday will take priority over regular parenting schedule. For example, if the court order says for the father to have thanksgiving from when school let's out which is on a Wednesday and returning Sunday. This this mean he gets to keep the kids pass Sunday( for the next week). Because I the mother had them the week of Thanksgiving because that was my week but the father picked them up Wednesday and he didn't return them because he said his week was the following week but the order says to return on Sunday

If the order specifies kids are to be returned by the Sunday following

the holiday, then that's when they should be returned--irrespective of which

parent may have them on Monday (in my opinion).
