Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Custodial parent wants me to give up my child

I served the Custodial parent with papers so that I could see my child, whom I haven't seen due to her mother not telling me where she is. I have been trying to locate my daughter for the past 20 months with no luck until now. Her mother served me with child support papers. I have been to court for that but and I am paying the support I owe. Know she calls a week before the visitation hearing and tells me that if I give up my parental rights to my daughter she won't ask for all of the child support I owe. She is now married and wants her husband to adopt my 4 year old daughter. I will never give up my rights to my child I love her too much. How she could even ask is crazy but anyway. Now I want more then just visitation I would like to get joint custody because I don't know what she might do. The only reason I haven't seen my daughter is because here mother wont let me. I go to court at the end of the week what advise you can give me. I don't want to loose my daughter again. Thank you for your time and help.
