Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

At my last custody hearing the court's decision was to give my ex-husband and I 50/50 custody. I appealed the decision. At the appeals hearing can my ex-husband get full custody? Or if I lose the appeal will it go back to 50/50?

If it's a so-called appeal de novo, any decision by the circuit court within the bounds of the applicable law and facts is possible (although a decision upholding the lower court is probably more likely).
