Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
We want custody of our kids cps took them away without charging us.
Our babysitter dropped our son and he admitts to dropping him. He had to be given cpr and was diagnosed with baby shaken syndrome. why do they still have their kids and we were given no explanation or asked what our daughters routine is they just took her. It has been about four days and we haven't even been told how our daughter is doing. thank you.

It is not possible to anser this question
without details as to how you lost custody and how the persons with present custody were selected and for what period? temporary??
In any event any abuse of any minor shoulc be reported immediately to the county Dep. Of Human Affairs, Child Prodtection Division!!

Child Protective Services must appear in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court within 72 hours of removing the child. You may not have been given notice of this hearing.
A preliminary removal hearing must be held within five days of the emergency removal hearing.
You should be given notice of any proceedings, and have the right to be represented by counsel.
You should contact the juvenile court and the department of social services to find out your hearing date.
