Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

my daughter and i have joint custody of her two children issued in virginia. my daughter and children have moved to kentucky and have lived there since jan 2009. one of the babies fathers has filed for visitation we sent notorized letters to the court in virginia asking for the case to be dismissed due to the children establishing residency in kentucky. the virginia court continued the case to nov 17 to check on jurisdiction does virginia still have jurisdiction over the children?

Jurisdiction for Virginia probably ended around six months after the children had continuously resided in Kentucky for six months.
