Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Does Daughter's Father have to back pay?

I filed an order for custody and for child support back in March. I went to court in June, but they just gave us another court date in August. Since my daughter's father and I split back in January, he has only given me about 500 or 600 dollars to this day, if even that. I had money saved up, but I have used most of it is since then to get by since I work only part time. Is the court going to make him pay me child support from March until this date? Or does it only go in affect the day the order is assigned?

No, the support order is normally retroactive to the date the petition was filed.
