Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My daughters mother and I have a mutual agreement of child support written and notarized. Now she decides she wants more money because I have a new baby on the way. If she takes me for child support, will the court honor our notarized legal agreement? Will it help or hurt my case? We are not married, never were.

No, your "notarized legal agreement" is unlikely to be accorded

much honor by the court unless it accords with what the

Virginia Child Support Guidelines found at Va. Code Sec. 20-108.2

would prescribe for your particular case.
