DCSE bank account hold

My boyfriend and I have a joint bank account. He owes ~$12,000 in child support. The court recently put a hold on our bank account. I have appealed this decision. I have proof that most of the money in the account is mine. Will I get the money back that I can prove is mine?

Yes, you should be able to get the money back taken from the joint account for a debt for which you have no responsibility.

You might, however, want to consider having an account only in your name to

avoid similar hassles in the future.
