Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Dear Sir or Madam,

I left my (estrange) wife in Maryland to take care of my elderly parents in Va, two (2) years ago As of now, we are separated and facing divorce. I left several possessions behind to include my dog (which I adopted prior to the marriage and have documentation). Now she will NOT let me retrieve those items nor get - let alone see my dog. Is there any action I can take outside of taken her to court over the dog? Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

T...from Va.

Other than just going to Maryland to pick up your things and your dog from the marital home, I can't think of any.(Yes, that's right; you should have an absolute right to enter the marital home, absent a valid court order barring

such entry.)
