deposition questions for final divorce
i am currently filing for divorce myself and i am curious if there is a format for how to do the deposition or a list of questions that need to be asked. I am doing it on my own due to lack of money to pay for an attorney the only thing that i need is a deposition. I need to know what i am supposed to do

Re: deposition questions for final divorce
There is no particular format for a deposition other than it normally takes place in a lawyer's office (or other venue outside the court) and it is formally recorded(usually by a court reporter who may later transcribe it)and the answers are given under oath. The questions may be directed to a party adversary in the case or to any witness, both of whom are permitted to have his or her attorney present.
Generally, there is considerable latitude afforded to the form of the question and any which may be reasonably construed as likely to elicit or lead to relevant information/facts, i.e, evidence regarding the case, are permitted and must be answered by the person to whom they're directed.
The answers provided to the questions asked in the deposition may be later used in the trial of the case itself to impeach or to call into question the credibility of the party or witness(s) from which the depositions were taken.
