Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Are depositions required in a no-fault divorce?

I have filed for a no-fault divorce in Virginia. There are no children and no real property. I have elected to file all the paperwork myself without the aid of an attorney. So far, so good. However, in the literature that I am reading to assist me, there is a passing mention of including depositions. Do I need depositions in my case? If so, who should I get them from? What do they need to say?

No, you do not need depositions in a no-fault action when there are no issues involving children or property.
