Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Brief description of your legal issue:
I have an order for child support in Chesapeake Juvenile. I have always resided in the state of North Carolina. My children live in Cheasapeake. I have worked as an RN for over 16 years. I am ordered to pay child support/medical coverage on my twin girls. I am also trying to put away for my own retirement. I am taking home poverty level income after all my deductions. Because of this, I have not been able to afford an attorney and my ex spouse and ex inlaws have made it impossible for me to see my children. They also went behind my back and were granted an order that my children can not be taken outside of that county, hence, I have not seen them in 6 years. I am now having health problems and cant afford the medical expences or prescriptions I have to be on, let alone meet my own expences of daily living. My 70 year old parents have had to help me just to keep the lowest standard of living roof over my head. They can no longer afford to do this. Since North Carolina overseas the VA order, I have attempted a hearing on this matter with no changes made what so ever. My hands are tied and I am being backed into a corner and cant do anything now, but attempt to relinquish my parental rights so I can survive myself. My parentas are willing to help in this matter as a last ditch effort to resolve this with a retainer (reasonable) fee. I was told I need a Viginia attorney and Virginia says I need an NC attorney. Can any one help me please? Thank you.

You would appear to be in need of an attorney who practices in the
Chesapeake area and who is approporiately knowledgeable and experienced
in Virginia family law and child support matters as they are handled in the Commonwealth.
