In a dirvorce case, once an agreement

in principle is signed, are you legally

bounded by the terms or can the

contract be changed?

While it is not completely true that an oral agreement is worth the paper it's written on, a written agreement is far less likely to result in a argument over what the agreement really is.

Courts are reluctant to accept as the agreement between divorcing parties something which is not in writing.

Such a contract can be changed if both parties agree to it and it has not yet been incorporated into a finalized decree of divorce.
