Dirvorce settlement
In a dirvorce case, once an agreement
in principle is signed, are you legally
bounded by the terms or can the
contract be changed?

Re: Dirvorce settlement
While it is not completely true that an oral agreement is worth the paper it's written on, a written agreement is far less likely to result in a argument over what the agreement really is.
Courts are reluctant to accept as the agreement between divorcing parties something which is not in writing.

Such a contract can be changed if both parties agree to it and it has not yet been incorporated into a finalized decree of divorce.
