Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Divorce Decree Agreement
I was divorced several months ago frommy ex-wife and we agreed in our separation agreement that all bills except for the payments for a car would be absorbed by myself but I'm now getting threatening calls from the finance company about the car because my ex-wife refuses to pay for the car.Apparently she is far behind and because I signed for the car for her when we were together after I returned from Iraq I am on the hook for this and my credit is continuing to suffer because of her.I am thousands of dollars in debt from her but I chose to pay my way out of debt rather than trust her.I now know for a fact that she gave the finance company fraudulent information on a bank account she knew was closed. The finance comapny was willing to work with her and they mand a good faith dela with her to get back on track making the payments but I was the one making the payments in the meantime to avoid further damage to my credit but it has become clear she is a criminal and will stick me with this if I let her.I want to know what my legal rights are and what I can do to make her live up to her agreement.

Re: Divorce Decree Agreement
You should dicuss with the attorney who represented you in the divorce, the possibility of initiating a Show Cause action against your former wife
for her failure to abide by the agreement which(presumably) was incorporated into your final decree of divorce.
