my husband is current incarcerated I filed for a divoce 2.5 years ago now my lawyer is saying I also have hire an attorney for him in order to get the divorce is this true or can I petition the court to hire an attorney for him?

Yes, your incarcerated husband must be represented by an attorney in your divorce proceeding, but if your financial situation does not permit you to hire one, you should be able to make application to the court to have a so-called committee (lawyer) appointed to represent him who would be compensated by the court.
