Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Divorce - Keeping House\Mortgage in Both Names

Can my spouse and I continue to keep our house in both names with the same joint mortgage even though we are getting divorced. I will pay for her equity and keep the house to live in? If so, how is this addressed in the property settlement agreement. This is in fairfax county virginia.

Re: Divorce - Keeping House\Mortgage in Both Names

This arrangement will likely generate problems for one or both parties in the future which is why most divorcing couples settle such property ownership issues by the time the divorce is finalized.
