Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Divorce
I am a legal resident who used to live in the United States. I got married to a women who were not a legal resident, we registered our marriage in the Americana court, then after two years we left the Unites States to the Middle East, then we got divorced legally there, and we have our legal divorce documents.
The question is, do we have to file the divorce once more in the United States? Or is our divorce documents are binding should one of us come back to the States?

Re: Divorce
No, you need not file for divorce again
should either you or your former wife return to the United States as long as the divorce which you obtained was done in full accord with the divorce laws of the particular country where it occurred. If so, the divorce should be recognized as valid and enforceable in any of the states or jurisdictions of the United States.
