Re: divorce

Divorces in the Commonwealth, depending upon whether they're contested or uncontested, and the number of collateral issues related to the divorce, can range anywhere from about $500 or so if you live, say, in Grundy(Washington Co.) Va., and are seeking a simple and uncontested dissolution of marriage with no children or property issues, to $5000 or more if you live in Fairfax and have numerous properties and children and the parties can come to no agreement on any of the major issues.

If you believe that your income would preclude you from hiring a lawyer to handle your divorce, you should contact the low cost legal services provider in your area to see whether an attorney might be provided to you at either no cost or at a substantially reduced cost.
