Divorce Question

My spouse served me divorce papers with my maiden name. I changed my name legally upon marriage. Are the papers valid if I sign them under my maiden name, or should I sign the papers under my current legal name?

I have just finished a case in which that happened. I filed an answer but corrected the allegation concening the name to indicate the legal name. The case ultimately was completed with the wife still being referred to in her maiden name, but at the end a separate order was presented to the court legally returning her to her maiden name.
