Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

divorce

I am getting ready to separate from my husband. We have a natural child (age 11)and 2 over 18 daughters from his previous marriage. He has admitted to a 2 year affair. We have very little money and many debts. I am a stay at home mom helping make ends meet by babysitting. How can I protect myself if he leaves before we get our debts under control? He is getting 12,000 from his 401K to get us on a surer footing. I don't completely trust him.

Re: divorce

You can protect yourself(somewhat) by securing a temporary order(pendente lite)for child as well as spousal support and custody of the child and the right to remain soley in possession of the home by securing such an order from the circuit court of the jurisdiction where you now reside.
