Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Divorce

I received notice that my ex husband was filing for divorce in Oct. 2007. A deposition was given by my husband and girlfriend as a witness in May 2008 and a hearing date of May 22, 2008. My ex-husband gave a incorrect address in which he knew I had moved so I never received anything about the hearing date. I just recently found out I was divorced on May 22, 2008. We never settled on a property settlement or spousal support. Is there any recourse for me?

Re: Divorce

Probably. If you were served by publication, the issues of property and support can be raised after the divorce.

You better get an attorney to look at the pleadings and the final decree.
