Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

divorce steps

I have separated from my husband of 7 years-completely agreed upon. we wish to get a no-fault divorce. we share 2 children. we have signed and notarized a separation agreement which lists division of property and finances as well as child support and a joint custody agreement with specifics attached. what steps do we need to take next? we live in VA. I keep reading about a ''pendente lite'' hearing. is that something I should schedule now or after we have been separated for a year? I would like to do all that I can to ensure that our separation agreement gets enforced and continues after the divorce for support and custody reasons.

Re: divorce steps

You're asking, Ma'am, after supposedly executing a Property Settlement Agreement(PSA )wherin allegedly are settled all of the major issues of your apparently dissolving marriage: "What steps do we need to take next?"

If you have to ask this kind of question at this stage in your case, you're apparently very much in need of competent counsel to take over the representation in your behalf

Make the phone call ASAP to ensure that such may happen.
