Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Divorce in Virginia

I have been married for 5 years and have been separated for over a year, if I file the divorce papers is there anyway that my wife can refuse to sign the papers or does she have to sign? Also what is the procedure for filing Slander due to content from a website webpage?

Your wife doesn't have to sign divorce papers, but you can still proceed with the divorce without her cooperation.

One dosen't file "Slander" but rather a defamation suit which might possibly be based upon slander (or libel), but you had better review this kind of civil suit with an attorney who knows something about defamation law in the Commonwealth and who can advise you, accordingly.
