Divorce from my wife and adopted son

I have been married since 2005 to a Jamaican woman who i sponsored into the country. I also adopted her son. The marriage is not working out and I want a divorce. Once this happens how long if any am i responsible for the child. She dose have regular contact with her sons father yet he provides no support.

If you adopted the woman's son, his biological father would no longer have any responsibility to provide support for your adopted son, an obligation which will continue on your part until the boy graduates from high school or turns 19, whichever occurs first(assuming that he continues to reside in Virginia).
