Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
I'm getting divorced in Virginia. My ex-wife and I agreed to an uncontested divorce and have signed and submitted a separation agreement. Is there any chance that the ore tenus hearing may result in either of us getting awarded something other than what was described in our agreement based on testimony, or is it basically just a formality to finalize what we already mutually agreed to?

The latter. An ore tenus hearing can only be done when there is nothing for the court to decide except whether the grounds for divorce have been established.
