Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

how do we get divorced w/o having to pay legal help?

my wife and i've been living separated for over 1.5 years now (i even moved to a different state). we haven't seen each other for year now, but she said she was coming to va and i'd want to use the opportunity to get divorced. we have owned anything together, have absolutely nothing together. no kids, no bank account, no joint lease. So i just wanted to see what we exaclty have to do. She'll be here for 3-4 days in less than a month. Would those couple of days be enough to have it done? Can i prepare something before she comes? Where do we have to go and what do we have to do withouth going to hire legal help which none of us wants to pay for.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Three to four days will not be sufficient to complete the divorce process. (Three to four months would be more like it.)

However, if your wife is willing to cooperate with the process, it can be accomplished even if she's in another state.

As for filing the divorce yourself(pro se), some circuit courts(civil division)have a packet of forms with instructions available to the public

at no charge which explains how to go about obtaining a Virginia divorce without an attorney.
