Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

If somebody wants to get a divorice and that person has paid everything but the utilities and is just barely making it and then when the divorice comes along the other that has been paying the utilities says they aren't going to pay the utilities, can you make them pay the utilities until nthe house sells?

No, the better approach is for the one spouse to continue to pay all of the utilities and to keep careful records of these payments so that when the house does sell, he or she can then be reimbursed for whatever disproportionate amount has been paid out of the sale proceeds.
