Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Domestic Partner Rights

I lived with my fiance for 5 years in the home that he owned. During the 5 years I paid $70,000 towards household expences and budget. While out of state for the weekend locks were changed and a storage unit was rented and clothing items were moved without my knowledge. My furniture and family heirlooms are in his home. What rights do I have regarding any monies. We did not have joint accounts. He was on my health insurance along with his children so we were presented as domestic partners to the community for the past 5 years, which was his idea with insurance.

Re: Domestic Partner Rights

With respect to monies you may have expended during this relationship, I see no rights on your part to recover anything; as to your items of personal property which are now being held in this household, you have the absolute right to have them promptly returned to you and if (for whatever reason)the wrongul distrainer refuses to do so, then file what's called a warrant in detinue in the local general district court against him.
