drug abuse and child custody

How much does drug abuse effect a custody hearing, and how hard is it to prove? Also, what about prior mental health issues?

I am being threatend that drug abuse is not veiwed as bad, but my previous mental counsling will effect my case.

Each of the factors that you've mentioned could have an effect on a custody case. However, to attempt to ascertain how much weight the court would accord each of them in your particular case would merely be an exercise in speculation without having far more and much more detailed and relevant information than would be suitable for one to consider in this forum.
