Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Emergency custody because of abuse
I have remarried and have custody of my 2 girls ages 6-8. My new husband has been allegedly molesting the girls. Before this they always had a great relationship and we had no clue anything was going on. The girls are very bright with great grades, girlscouts, just happy children. I had him removed from my home as soon as i was contacted by the authorities. My ex-husband had the girls for the weekend when they told there aunt what had happened. Social services has a emergency custody hearing this thurs. The big twist is the man that has done this was also an abusive husband in the past and that makes it look like he should have never been in my home in the 1st place. Social services has spoken with their father but not with me. By me throwing him out and trying to work with the police to get him arrested is there a chance the social workers will see that he will no longer be in my home and allow me to continue with custody?

I can only conclude, based upon the facts and circumstances which you've described, that you
would be very well advised to engage the services of counsel competent and knowledgeable in the area of Virginia family law and practice to represent you in this matter if you are truely earnest about maintaining custody of your admittedly abused children.
