Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I am engaged to be married to a man that has two children from two previous relationships. He has a court order to pay child support for both, which he is paid up-to-date without any debt. In the event that he loses his job, would I be responsible for paying his child support fees? Also, the mother of his oldest son is quite spiteful and she hasn't worked in years. I have a feeling that she may request an increase in pay after our marriage since the household income will be greater. Does she have the legal right to do this, and how can I avoid being responsible?

No, you are not responsible "for paying his child support fees"--no matter what the cause for their not being paid---since you have no legal responsibilty for the support of these particular children as referenced.
