Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Evicting an Authorized Occupant

I am the owner of my home in Suffolk, VA I invited my girlfriend and her 2 kids to come stay with me about 6 months ago, the relationship has become a nightmare and I now wish for them to vacate the premises. They aren't under any contract or tenant agreements, they don't pay any rent or bills. What can I do legally to evict them? What rights if any do they have that I must allow?

Re: Evicting an Authorized Occupant

You could start by personally serving your invitees(whom you ill advisedly invited)with formal written notice that they must vacate your property by a date certain(no more than two weeks)and take all of their belongings with them, and that if they remain on your property after that date, that you will have no alternative but to consider all of them trespassers and you will thereupon be forced to call local law enforcement authorities to have them physically removed from the premises and charged with class 1 criminal misdemeanor offenses. (Also, consider changing the locks, if necessary, to further bar their entrance.)
